Accessibility Statement

Our target

We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA. That is the standard most commonly referenced by the Americans with Disabilities Act and by state accessibility requirements.

We treat it as a floor to keep clearing rather than a certificate to hang up. The site is measured against it as part of the build, not audited once and forgotten.

What we have done

These are specific and verifiable rather than aspirational:

• Every page’s text and interface colors are checked against WCAG AA contrast ratios by an automated audit that resolves the actual rendered color, not the declared one
• The whole site can be operated by keyboard, with a visible focus indicator on every interactive element
• A skip link lets keyboard and screen-reader users jump past the navigation
• Pages use real landmarks and a single, ordered heading hierarchy so screen readers can navigate structurally
• Images carry descriptive alternative text; decorative images are hidden from assistive technology so they do not add noise
• Form fields have persistent, programmatically associated labels (not placeholder text standing in for a label), and errors are announced, not just colored
• Color is never the only way information is conveyed
• Touch targets are at least 48 by 48 pixels
• All animation, including the scrolling band on the homepage, stops for visitors whose system is set to reduce motion
• Text reflows to 320 pixels wide without horizontal scrolling, and stays readable when zoomed to 200%
• Fonts are served from our own domain, so text renders without the flash of invisible text that a font network can cause

Where we fall short

An honest statement needs this section. As of the date on this page:

• The site has been tested with automated tooling and by keyboard, but has not yet been tested by users of screen readers in a formal session
• We have not audited the site against JAWS, NVDA and VoiceOver individually
• Some longer pages would benefit from in-page navigation that they do not yet have
• PDF or document downloads, if we add any in future, may not be remediated at the time they are published

If something does not work

If you hit a barrier on this site, please tell us; it is the fastest way for us to find and fix it. Email the address below and, if you can, include the page, what you were trying to do, and the browser or assistive technology you were using.

We aim to respond within five business days, and to fix confirmed barriers as quickly as we reasonably can. If a fix will take time, we will tell you and offer another way to get what you needed.
